Bolton Abbey

Our Community Impact

The Cistercian Monastery of Bolton Abbey is a monastic community dedicated to seeking God as a way of life. Established in 1965 and granted independent Abbey status in 1977, the community follows the Cistercian tradition of simplicity, prayer, and manual work. They provide a space for retreats, spiritual guidance, and liturgical prayer, while also contributing to the local economy through agricultural operations and maintaining a commitment to child safeguarding standards.
