About us

Kennys Bookshop & Art Galleries Ltd.

Our Community Impact

Kennys Bookshop & Art Galleries is a long-standing, family-run Irish institution based in Galway, established in 1940. Serving as a global pioneer in online bookselling, they provide a vast selection of new, secondhand, and rare books. Beyond retail, they foster Irish culture and literature through The Kenny Gallery, which supports contemporary Irish artists, and Kennys Bindery, which preserves historical documents. They are dedicated supporters of the Irish language and have played a significant role in Galway's cultural life for over eight decades, hosting exhibitions, supporting local historians, and promoting Irish writers to a worldwide audience while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability.
