Portumna RFC is a community-driven rugby club founded in 2002 to bring rugby to a hurling-dominated region. The club has evolved from using borrowed pitches to developing its own home grounds at Clonfert Avenue. It provides a structured environment for rugby development, fielding teams ranging from minis to adult levels, including boys' and girls' youth sections and a senior men's team competing in the Connacht J2A League.
