Community Groups

The Irish Writers Centre is Ireland’s leading resource and development organisation for writers, founded in 1991. Its mission is to support a vibrant and diverse community of writers of all types and talents to develop their craft, capacity, and confidence. Operating on an all-island basis, the centre provides an extensive annual programme of courses, masterclasses, mentoring, and residencies to foster literary talent and support the professional development of writers at all stages of their careers.

The Killaloe Hedge-School of Writing provides creative and professional writing workshops designed to empower individuals by teaching clear and simple writing techniques. Inspired by historical 18th-century hedge-schools, the organization, directed by David Rice, has served students from 19 countries over 20 years, offering training in fiction, non-fiction, memoir, and business communications.

The Limerick Writers' Centre is a literary hub dedicated to nurturing, supporting, and connecting writers of all levels in the Limerick region. Through workshops, open-mic events, book launches, and publishing initiatives like Revival Press and Savoy Editions, the centre fosters artistic development and celebrates the city's rich literary heritage, providing a space where both established and emerging writers can thrive.
