Longford Slashers GAA Club is a cornerstone of the Longford community, established in 1954. Beyond its primary mission of promoting Gaelic games, the club has demonstrated significant community leadership by developing state-of-the-art sporting facilities and partnering with the Backstage Theatre and Centre for the Arts to provide cultural assets to the town. The club remains deeply involved in the sporting, charitable, cultural, and political life of Longford.
